Giriki school building project
Through donations from Irish supporters at Christmas 2008, we helped build a health centre in Giriki, Eastern Uganda, which has greatly improved the lives of the children and community there. However with nearest school 20 miles away, children like David (pictured, right) are missing their education
Educate the children out of poverty and support their grand design
This year, we are hoping to raise funds for the construction of a new school and a school feeding programme for 500 children. We have a grand design for the village of Giriki. We urgently need people who can see it too. The tragic history of Giriki is about to change for the better - with your help.
The people of Giriki have picked out a patch of land and they can already picture 8 classrooms, 3 staff houses, desks, books, and 500 children learning to free themselves from poverty.
You can help us build a school and give them a future to believe in
Join the project and over the year you'll see how the children and the community are benefiting from your support and you can follow the progress of the school you are helping to build.
How your support could make a difference
€35 could buy desks and chairs for three school children
€49 could get blackboards for five classrooms
€62 can provide a rainwater tank to supply clean water for cooking and handwashing
€85 can provide food for 1 child through the School Feeding Programme
€286 is the cost per child of building the school.
